About Us

Andrew grew up in the Belgrade Lakes region of Maine where he sampled the surrounding waters and woodlands as often as possible.  After attending Messalonskee High School he went on to Bates College in Lewiston, Maine graduating with a degree in Environmental Studies.  After graduation he worked for the Maine Forest Service on a federal grant, completing forest health surveys via helicopter.  When the grant money dried up he acquired his guide's license in hunting, fishing and recreation, subsequently establishing Water's Edge Guide Service.  Andrew grew up in a multi generational trades family and had held a hammer more than a few times in his youth.  He joined a historic restoration carpentry company for several years and continued on to work five years for a green building company in central Maine.  All the while staying busy with guiding, family and his own time afield.  A decade of hard work and extensive guiding have passed and the passion is still there.

When not guiding clients throughout Maine, you can find Andrew chasing Steelhead in Western NY, tuna off the coast of Cape Cod, Stripers in southern Maine or swinging flies for Atlantic Salmon in New Brunswick.  He has traveled coast to coast in search of the next great adventure but loves what Maine has to offer most of all.

Andrew resides in Farmington, Maine with his wife Molly, son River and their four Labrador Retrievers
